Program Name & Description

Program: Positive Regard Therapy SMS
Purpose: Appointment reminders, scheduling updates, intake and forms assistance, and important practice notices related to your therapy services at Positive Regard Therapy (PRT). If you separately consent to marketing texts, you may also receive occasional practice announcements or invitations. Consent is not a condition of treatment.

How You Opt In

You may opt in to PRT SMS in any of the following ways (as made available by PRT):

  • Website/Form Opt-In: By completing our intake or SMS opt-in form and checking the consent box.

  • Keyword Opt-In: By texting a designated keyword (when offered) to our messaging number.

  • Written/Verbal Consent: In person (or by phone) with our staff, documented in our system.

By opting in, you consent to receive text messages from Positive Regard Therapy at the mobile number you provide. Message frequency varies.

Message Frequency & Fees

  • Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your interactions (e.g., scheduling confirmations, reminders, updates). PRT may send additional messages periodically as needed for patient communications.

  • Fees: Message and data rates may apply. If you have questions about your text or data plan, contact your wireless provider.

Opt-Out (STOP)

You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to our messaging number.

  • After you send STOP, we will send one final message to confirm you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further SMS from PRT unless you opt in again.

  • If you wish to resume messages after opting out, re-enroll via our intake/opt-in form or by contacting us.

Carrier Disclosures

  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Nature of SMS Communications

  • Clinical Content: PRT SMS is limited to scheduling, reminders, intake coordination, and practice notices. We do not provide clinical advice, diagnosis, or emergency communications by text.

  • Emergencies: If you are experiencing an emergency or crisis, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

  • Consent Not Required: Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving services from PRT.

Mobile Number Changes

If you change or transfer your mobile number, you agree to reply STOP from the old number or notify us at hello@positiveregard.co so we can update our records. This is a condition of continued use of the PRT SMS program.

What SMS Data We Collect

When you opt in to SMS, we may collect:

  • Your mobile number, name, and time stamps of messages;

  • Message content limited to scheduling/logistical communications;

  • Delivery/read events (as supported by carriers) for troubleshooting and audit.

We do not ask for or transmit sensitive clinical details over SMS. Please do not send confidential health information by text.

How We Use SMS Data

We use SMS data to:

  • Send reminders and scheduling updates;

  • Coordinate intake/forms and practice notices;

  • Operate, monitor, and improve the reliability of our messaging program (e.g., troubleshoot delivery).

SMS Data Sharing & Selling

  • We do not sell or rent your mobile number or SMS data.

  • No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

  • Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

(We may disclose SMS records if required by law, court order, subpoena, or to protect the safety and security of our services.)

Security & Retention

  • We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect SMS data from unauthorized access or disclosure.

  • SMS data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal or operational requirements, or as otherwise permitted by law.

  • Because SMS is not a secure channel, avoid sending confidential or sensitive health information by text.

Your Choices & Rights

  • Opt-out: Reply STOP at any time to end SMS.

Changes to This SMS Privacy Policy

We may update this SMS Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates are effective upon posting to our website. Your continued use of PRT SMS after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
