LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy in Chicago and Across Illinois

Therapy that actually gets you

At Positive Regard Therapy, we offer therapy that supports LGBTQ+ people without judgment or confusion. We are a queer owned practice that welcomes people of all genders and sexualities, and we meet you where you are.

Whether you are figuring out who you are, dealing with stress or anxiety, or going through something hard, we are here to listen and help without asking you to explain the basics.

We work with gay, bi, pan, trans, nonbinary, gender expansive, asexual, and questioning folks. Everyone deserves support that feels safe, honest, and real.

People come to us for

  • Anxiety, depression, and stress

  • Coming out or figuring out identity

  • Relationship and family problems

  • Trauma, grief, or big life changes

  • Struggles around gender or sexuality

  • Feeling stuck, lost, or overwhelmed

We offer in person therapy in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago and secure telehealth across Illinois.

We Are Sex Positive

We support people in all kinds of relationships and sexual experiences. That includes kink, BDSM, ethical nonmonogamy, open relationships, sex work, and pleasure centered care. If sex is part of what you want to talk about in therapy, we will meet you with curiosity, not shame.

You do not need to tone yourself down or leave parts of your life at the door.

Why this kind of therapy matters

Too many LGBTQ+ people have had bad experiences with therapy—feeling judged, misunderstood or like they had to hide parts of themselves.

We do not do that here.

You can bring your full self. You can say what is really going on. And we will take you seriously with kindness, honesty and no assumptions.

Get started
