Eric Underhill, LSW (he/him)
I work with individuals and couples (straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, and queer) who are exploring intimacy, sexuality, identity, and the effects of depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health challenges. I have a particular interest in helping people find meaning and healing after experiences of spiritual or religious trauma. As both a therapist and a gay man who has walked his own path of faith and self-acceptance, I bring empathy, curiosity, and authenticity to the work we do together. My goal is to help clients unpack shame, rejection, or loss of belonging and move toward a sense of wholeness and peace.
I take a approach that emphasizes safety, trust and self-discovery. Together we look at how early experiences, cultural and spiritual messages, and internalized beliefs have shaped the way you relate to yourself and others. Whether you are questioning long-held beliefs, rebuilding your spiritual identity, or finding your voice as an LGBTQ+ person.
My path to becoming a therapist is both professional and personal. I understand what it means to question long-held beliefs, rebuild trust in yourself, and search for a sense of belonging. My experiences in advocacy, education, and community work have deepened my appreciation for how healing happens when people feel seen and accepted for who they truly are.
